Advent calendars

They’re a very good German brewery, I’ve had one of theirs tonight. That’s a blueberry sour by the look of things

My random picks so far have been 14, 21 and 7. We had No:14 tonight very nice, in fact looking at the three choices so far and your choices, it looks like Beer Gonzo have put a very nice box together. Btw looking at your pick today, I have not had a SMOD beer yet so I am really pleased that there is one in the box.

*Spoiler alert, If you want to keep your box a surprise then don’t look at my ratings.

I’m keeping a count of your calendar this year as Beer Gonzo is always one of the ones I would most likely pick up as seems to be decent brewers that I like … I’ll see what % of new rates it yields come the end.

Not a great start mind … 1 new tick in 3 days … would need to be at least 75% + to tempt me in the future I reckon.

I will keep posting. 100% new beers for me so far.

Stolen from the UKCBF. Some dude has kept a spreadsheet of what has been included in various craft beer calendars for the last few years, including this year’s so far.

For some reason the spreadsheet is showing as private when I pasted the link here. Website: https://www.beervoyage.co.uk/advent-calendars

I considered supporting a localish shop and getting the A Hoppy Place one but currently only 1 new tick of 4.

Previously the Beerhawk one looked pretty basic but this year they have the same beers as Saveur Bier so may be a good and possible cheaper one (?l) for future years. I seem to remember that I was no alone in wanting to order the Saveur one (and from Saveur in general) and being annoyed that they redirected potential UK customers to Beerhawk and their inferior stock so perhaps they listened to feedback when it comes to the calander. Also I guess it makes more economic sense.

Cloin would die if he drank the same beer twice unless it’s a megablend

I’m not watching this thread anymore; just saying!

<*))))))><

I know what you mean, I’m getting jealous. Mine was quite an error of judgement. Running at only 4 of 7 new beers so far.

Day 7 for me is:

So far 6 of 7 are new for me.

Just 3 new from 7 so far for me @42.8% success rate.

Most are relatively new releases but when it comes to some of my favourite brewers I tend to pick them up in the first month of release such as that tasty CDA you have there!

I tend to get my advent calendar from somewhere I have been regularly buying beer from. Which can help with new rates, I’m also below 10k rates which helps a lot more.

I’ve been very impressed with my Beer Gonzo Advent Calendar so far, as mentioned above I have selected mine randomly, but had that Siren beer a few days ago, it’s lovely. Btw you have some further great beers to come.

Late to the thread, apologies for that. I got the Beer Hawk one, and it’s been 100% new beers for me so far.
