Thanks @Blackhaddock, you just beat me to it! Dates are 9th-20th though, not 11th-22nd according to their website.

On checking again: AUT24RAFNEWS.pdf (jdwetherspoon.com)

Just the two strongest beers are not new to me, so 28 new rates to find this time around.

Interesting. All the international beers of the fest are actually brewed in the UK

As with all the Wetherspoons fests… cheaper to ship over an international brewer to a UK brewery than to ship a load of their beer.

Is the Innis & Gunn going to be loaded as a new cask rate?

I believe the rule is that there’s only a separate cask entry if the bottle is pasteurised or has a significantly different ABV. The ABV is the same in this case. I don’t know if the bottle version is pasteurised or not?

Pretty sure all I&G bottles and cans are pasteurised. Plus they have form on doing cask specials for 2013 & 2014 spoons fests e.g. Toasted Oak IPA has a separate cask listing.

I’ll leave that up to admin to make a call on as I don’t have the ability to add “(Bottle)” after the existing one.

On a separate note, I wonder if we need a new version of Windsor & Eton Canberra added?

The existing one on RB has Galaxy & Nelson Sauvin hops plus maple syrup.

The Wetherspoons fest version has Chinook, Pacific Jade and Summit hops but no apparent maple syrup, so looks like a significant recipe change.

I don’t know what the rule is on this, or how the 2 versions should be recorded if we do split them? It may of course have changed some time ago. Another one for the admins to make a call on (sorry)…

I’ve now added all the new fest beers to RB except for the possible splits for the Windsor & Eton and Innis & Gunn brews (see above - waiting for admin advice on those).

Looks quite a reasonable list this time round; shame that I probably won’t get a chance to partake this time.

The Shrewsbury Hotel (in Shrewsbury) kicked off the festival a little early so I was able to sample a couple of these earlier this evening (https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/adnams-central-city-red-racer-session/1228577/67182/ and https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/oakham-yazoo-all-dog-alert/1228863/67182/) - thanks @wheresthepath for adding them, made rating those a much simpler task! Wonder how many of the 30 I’ll snag this time?

I am popping into Telford Town Centre and Wellington on Wednesday to see what they’ve got on, not expecting a huge haul, but hopefully tick off at least a couple in each venue. Me free bus pass getting me there!

I hear that Wellington already has a least one festival beer on

PS I’ll be in Shrewsbury on Thursday afternoon

Yes, someone on the Yellow Site has had the weak Siren beer already.

That was one of the few I’d already had, in can last year.

My trip to the local Spoon’s started slowly, the Telford town centre one had just a single fest beer, luckily the one in Wellington had seven on, but one was same at the town centre offering.

So 7 rates for me, plus 3 in another pub on my way home. A 10 rate haul is good for a Wednesday in Shropshire!

My local spoons, The White Lady, is putting four of its seven pumps to the festival beers. I’ve caught three festival beers there so far and there’s three new today. I’m planning a trip to the Standing Order this afternoon though, which has the usual gantry set up. I’m solo though, so I’m planning to limit myself to a sensible three pints / 9 ticks then see what’s left next weekend.
