Another classic I missed all this years.
Last year in August a store in PA was selling all of their Christmas beers at discount prices, as most were gross and old. They also had Corsendonk Xmas, St. Bernardus Xmas, Fat Heads Pimp My Sleigh, and a the better part of a case of Scaldis Noel. Having a stash of Scaldis Noel really made me appreciate it as perhaps my favorite Christmas beer.
Both of my brother-in-laws love this beer. I drank more of Mad Elf this year than I have had in a long time.
It’s fine - perhaps a bit too much alcohol for me these days. I would drink one and then could feel my face start warming up. Really does bring me back as this was one of my favs years ago.
Wife got me this for my birthday, earlier in December. Hardywood in Richmond VA puts out a big box of their Gingerbread stout. The price is a bit steep, but I really enjoy this kind of beer. What I’m really missing was in last year’s pack: Session GBS, which clocked in at 5% and was more enjoyable than the +9.2% offering. Just cracked into the Toasted Fluffy, which is better than last year’s Fluffy. The Gingerbread Bourbon Barleywine is where it’s at.
- The Original Gingerbread Stout
- Christmas Morning
- Christmas Pancakes
- Gingerbread Porter
- Bourbon Barrel GBS
- Kentucky Christmas Morning
- Bourbon Barrel Caliente GBS
- Apple Brandy GBS Blend
- Gingerbread Bourbon Barleywine
- The Flannel
- Toasted Fluffy
- Granny’s GBS
somehow I haven’t seen this in cans, only bottles.
