For economic reasons, I imagine that there are three: (i) press created by this announcement (assuming none of us heard of these guys), (ii) people who want to drink this for a gimmick, and (iii) the all important eco-hippie market (need to ween them off kombucha afterall). Would any of those offset the added costs? I do not know.
