BotM December'24 (not 25): Out with the old

Just a weak spot I would think. There are older ones that are just fine.

Seems a little odd to be posting in the forum given the writings on the wall, but here we go. This has been aged almost 10 years, and doesn’t taste like it at all. Wondrous chocolate and plummy flavours mingling with dark malt and roast. Exceptional beer.

19% seems like the right move.

Got this in a trade in the spring. I wanted all the milds I could get. This one is 6%, wacky.

Let’s see if I have the heart to rate it.

Purchased at brewery this summer. Shouldn’t need to keep holding on to it.

I usually get the Bridge Road Advent Box. This didn’t thrill me at the time (2018) but has relaxed a bit.

Here as Mayday Hills Grape (Sour/ Wild) - a 100% Brett fermented ale w grapes and grape skins - certainly one of those beers that convinced me that Brett != sour. But also 100% Brett? Sure, but why?

That’s brewed in Dark Mild’s heartland, mostly all that strength. That’s a decent one.

What an appropriate drink.
