Cor! What a stunner! What's your best score lately?

This: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/sahtipaja-the-passion/597175/95853/ a strong 4,6!

Have three at a 4.5:

https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/side-project-quetsche-du-fermier/575217/158283/

Looking forward to a few I know I’ll have this year. Getting extra snobby in my ratings recently, so those 4.5s blew me away.

Had a mini tasting session with myself this evening; only eight beers, all 33cl in size. The winner score wise was this: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/flavourly-pillow-fight/561851/97853/

For the year so far however I can offer this (again): https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/cloudwater-bourbon-chocolate-imperial-stout/573718/97853/

There seems to be a trend here (chocolate).

4.2 from a tiny new brewery in Salem.

For 2.9 % I thought this was exceptional. https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/cloudwater-small-citra-mosaic-pale/607641/

All the Three Sons impy stouts at MBCC.
Ridiculously good.
We’re talking all 6 rated 4.2 to 4.5 … although when they make it out of my backlog is another matter!

Loved this one https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/to-ol-5x-raid-beer/585276/

i really like this one…

4.9 My highest rating so far…

Verdant Maybe One More PSI? This is delicious, all sweet melon and passion fruit. Rare plus 4 score from me.

The best in May has been this Californian wild which was an unexpected delight.

Got a meting near Waterloo this afternoon so hooefully Bar Under the Bridge will have something good on.

A straight 5.0 for Superstition Cherion. That stuff was glorious.

The best beer I’ve had this year, however (besides the occasional Schlenkerla from the wood), was Perennial Barrel Aged Abraxas at 4.8. Utterly amazing and worth all the praise!

Just had my first Founders KBS, so that has been my latest ‘stunner’, 2018 release, 355ml bottle.

Must be the last ‘beer geek’ in the world to have one.

Big wow here - 4.3:
https://www.ratebeer.com/reviews/fuller39s-vintage-ale-1998/10564/?order=RECENT
May be slightly influenced in an upward direction by virtue of it being Anna and my 20th arghiversary, but I’ve always been a sucker for Fuller’s Vintages, and have never been perturbed by the effects of autolysis in strong ales. And the fact that we’ve been sipping it gently for half an hour, and it’s still got a decent head is just stunning. Not sure what needs to be pulled out of the bag for our 25th…

Just got most of the 3 Sons entered from my MBCC backlog now - all ranging from 4.2 to 4.4 - looking at the other scores we were not the only ones their beer went down well with.

Pretty safe bet for my best “new” brewery of the year so far

A rare new entry into the Top 10 for me yesterday, with a 4.5 score given - well worth seeking out imho…
