FAO UK Admins - Breweries/Places Housekeeping

Which beer / place are you trying to load the photo for?

No plans at present on this front.

Reason being of course sabotage (at any point and still from the fall out of the AB investment).

All it would take is one angry warrior to do a lot of damage to the places database so we are where we are.

I guess one way forward is to look at giving editing rights to a small set of folks who we trust and are active in places … ie you guys who post here regularly.

Not sure how easy this would be to implement but I can ask.

Had a cask half-pint of this today: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/craddock’s-river-steam-(prev-bridgnorth)/240051/

Now rebadged as Bridgnorth River Stream (again). Brewers from Craddock’s turn up once or twice a week to brew behind ‘The Stable Bar’ in Bridgnorth in the old Bridgnorth Brewery. No idea what and how much they actually brew there.

They also had two other ‘Bridgnorth’ beers on hand-pull, but the lad behind the bar said they were brewed by Greene King and re-named for the pub!

Good luck trying to sort this out Glen.

These two pubs although connected by bricks are two completely different entities. Craddock’s (I think), own The Stable Bar and it’s brewery, The Kings Head is a ‘free house’.

Both are worthy of an entry on the data base and I will happily review each one if they are split as they should be.

Hello UK admins. I added this place on recent trip back to London https://www.ratebeer.com/p/art-craft-sw16-mk-2-streatham/76628/ - and would kindly ask an admin if they can change the type from “Bar” to “bottle shop / beer store” please. Cheers!

I’d like the power to edit my own typos and predictive text mishaps.

Sorry, my bad. For the life of me I’m not sure why I added these as one place.

Regarding photos, the latest one was this

https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/baker’s-dozen-stormtrooper-rugby/592549/

I see there’s a picture added but I’m not sure whether that photo is mine or was added subsequently.

Hey, no problem, the facebook page seems to indicate they are connected, I have been told they are not: an inquisitive Admin type will find the truth one way or the other.

I’ve just noticed that Lincolnshire Brewing Co, still has the old place as a location.

https://www.ratebeer.com/Place/state/city/placename/55260.htm

As a place this has closed, the brewery is at the location as per the brewery page.

Just noticed that this one never got updated:

www.ratebeer.com/p/hop-locker-3/7183

Now renamed Bar Under the Bridge.

Open over the Christmas period too.

I know this is off-topic, but perhaps there’s some Commonwealth unity still…
Australia’s a freaking mess: https://www.ratebeer.com/places/countries/14/
So many duplicated towns, some with states, some without, some with commas, some without. It’s all brainless robotic cleanup, no local knowlege required. There are two real wtf-ey gems in that list, too.
Do we not have any antipodean admins who can take care of this region?

If you post this on the main forum Marko is handling international ones.

Came across this one while updating the online bottleshop directory.

I assume they moved premises at some point. In fact they actually have 2 addresses, both different to what’s on Ratebeer. One is in their footer which appears to be the “public” one, the other is in their T&Cs.

Not sure which address is relevant since they’re an online store but it’s either
Business address: 39A Macdowall Street, Paisley, PA3 2NB
Registered office: 1037 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G3 7TZ (this is the one given in the footer of their website)

Also their Twatter has been entered incorrectly (only needs the username, not the http and all that stuff).

I noticed this when in Australia over Christmas & the New Year, forgot to post at the time and wondered whether it was too big a clean up job. Needs doing though!

Wiper & True is in the St Werburghs area of Bristol, not Eastville. Can this be amended please?

I’ve been taking look at a couple pub websites so a load of updates to come;)

However, one I spotted a while back but which I was reminded of.

Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant & Castle features at least two bars. Currently there are three separate listing - it’s own and two bars:

  1. The market itself.
    https://www.ratebeer.com/p/mercato-metropolitano-elephant-castle/65638/

  2. Italian - Job Borough
    https://www.ratebeer.com/p/italian-job-borough-borough/64865/

  3. German Kraft Brewery (brewpub)
    https://www.ratebeer.com/p/german-kraft-brewery-borough/76461/

Can I suggest that the market itself does not need a listing, as the bars are separate entities? This would then avoid confusion - only two ratings so far. Both are essentially of Italian Job. Any other bars or beer stall can then be added separately as per other London markets.

So Italian Job - Borough should be renamed Italian Job - Mercato Metropolitano and also have it’s location corrected to Elephant & Castle.

And then the same done for German Kraft Brewery (which I am going to add as a brewery as that has not been done).

Long Arm Brewery - it’s moved so the brewery page need updating as do the details for the Ealing Park Tavern as it’s no longer a brewpub.

New website: http://longarmpub.co.uk/

New address. etc:

Long Arm Pub & Brewery
20-26 Worship Street
EC2A 2DX
London
020 3873 4065

Opening Times
Monday – Saturday
11am - midnight
Sunday
12pm - 8pm

info@longarmpub.co.uk

I’ll add it as a place.

I agree, I added the market ‘Mercato Metropolitano’ location in Elephant & Castle because I was unaware that it had already been listed under the other name Italian Job, under Borough, why ? because I never thought for one minute someone would have thought that it was in Borough but did definitely think it was Elephant & Castle. In fact reading through the reviews of it on Timeout every man and his dog comments on it being in Elephant & Castle. So I would be more than happy for my listing to go across to the Italian Job place reviews, but like Bearded Avenger I would like these then to be moved to Elephant & Castle for accuracy.

Every company has to have a registered office and that address has to be displayed in various places, including websites (supposedly). Often it’s just their accountant’s or solicitor’s office address and has nothing to do with any trading activity.
