FAO UK Admins - Breweries/Places Housekeeping

Yes, I know what one is, I’m a business owner myself. I don’t display it on my website though and there’s no requirement for this.
I brought it up because of the fact they’re an online shop. The address is irrelevant for customers, so to show it prominently in the footer like that seems odd, especially as like you say, it’s highly likely it’s their accountant rather than any physical presence. In my experience most don’t bother putting it on their website publicly. So that’s why I’m wondering which one we wanted on Ratebeer, don’t want to mislead though it’s not such a big deal I suppose.

Just came across this one, not sure what happened but the county is empty (should be Somerset, which is appearing as the city instead). No record of this company on Companies House so unsure of a full address.

Their Twitter username is ApexBrewery

I don’t think it’s strictly enforced though

Interesting, I stand corrected. The fact it’s not enforced (whatsoever?) is why I was under the impression it was not required. I do display my company number and all that on the website so it’s trivial for anyone to find our address should they want/need to.

Anyway back on topic. Which address is preferred in the case of my original post about that online shop? Their registered office? It’s not the first time I’ve come across cases like this on Ratebeer where the lack of a physical premises has caused some confusion about which of the business’ addresses should be used.

The Brewpub thread on the main forum reminded me that there’d been no mention of Maregade when I went to the Cock Tavern. They now have their own premises in Homerton:

http://maregade.com/#contact

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/new-plassey-40prev-plassey41/2616/ please also see https://www.plassey.com/food-drink/brewery/

Now appears to be: http://www.magicdragonbrewing.co.uk/#ABOUTUS

I had this back in Oct 2017; https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/new-plassey-magic-dragon-brew-11/548860/ and New Plassey was clearly on the hand-pull clip. Most likely a test brew.

I had a pint of Magic Dragon Ceridwen today, no mention of New Plassey: https://untappd.com/b/magic-dragon-brewing-ceridwen/2506588

No idea where to rate it, or if New Plassey has gone (in name) or what?

<*))))))><

I was at the Craddocks brewpub a few months back and the brewer told me that the Bridgnorth beers were all now rebranded as Craddocks, so I put the correction in in. Looks like they’ve changed their mind again!

Glasshouse are moving to new 8bbl capacity premises (according to this tweet: https://twitter.com/GlassHouseBrum/status/967412604363735040)

Unit 6b Waterside Business Park, Stirchley, West Midlands, B30 3DR

Bump!

Apologies - just added this brewery and didn’t change it to a Commissioner:

Also added the one beer twice but that was a slip of greasy crisp fingers on my keyboard.

Catching up again. Job done.

I made the mistake of trying to clean up some Australian stuff in the past, nuclear war was threatened, but I will pass on your comments.

Tidied this one up using the Business Address.

Now I have been thinking about how to group a list of UK On-Line Beer Merchants together for Ratebeer. I just wondered that if I created a Brewer called On Line Beer Merchants UK (or something similar) then on the Places data for Associate Brewer link this to the newly created ‘Brewer’. This will then list the On Line places under Places Associated. Not a perfect fix but I think it would work. What do you reckon? Maintaining it may be a pain.

Yep, that’s now been done.

Took a while but now all done.

There had been some discontent as to the number of different areas in London we had listed, so there was a bit of work to reduce the number of areas by grouping some together, however this proved to be even more confusing. I have re introduced Elephant & Castle for these, but somehow we do need to sort out London.

Actually it is the County that is showing, not the town, it’s just that we have no full address for them. I am hoping to get more details about them from Coventry Beer Festival this Friday if I can get there.

Job done

Confused, we will be! You can add Gertie Sweet to this tale of corporate misleading tactics. Name now changed to Magic Dragon. They change names every 2 years so we look forward to the next incarnation.
