FAO UK Admins - Breweries/Places Housekeeping

Yeah, but I’m not sure he’s doing much these days.

I was on my phone when I posted so didn’t include links. I could have sworn that there was a closed London Beer Dispensary but when I look at Peckham’s Places page there are no closed places.

Yes it is me and you’re right I’ve not had much chance recently…new arrival and all.

I did spot this yesterday and already messaged the brewery affiliate who did this. I need to go in and add Brewery name back in when I get a chance.

Yeah, I should really have expanded to say “he’s a bit busy with other things”. Congratulations by the way.

I locked him out btw so he didn’t do anymore damage!

Thanks. Regarding Bond Street Brewery, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

I tweeted Beer Guide London as they only list breweries that brew within London. Earth Ale have said that they brew in London. Unless I am confusing two similarly names breweries. But am presuming I am not as they both list the same beers!

At the end of 2016 the local.CAMRA lot were suggesting that Hedgedog Brewery had closed down. However I had a new beer from them early the next year. Similarly they were closed on here at some pooint during 2017. However their website was updated in Oct 2017 and mentions that their brewing equipment is due to be ready in Q2 2018. Until they they will supply select pubs, which would appear to be a couple of Brunning and Price pubs. Anyway… they seem to be more semi-comatosed rather than dead.

Just looked at the Island brewery on the Isle of Wight at the web site on RB isn’t for the brewery, it’s for the commercial drinks distributor.

The actual website is

http://www.islandales.co.uk

Not a brewery/place but just wanted to bring attention to a dupe beer as both entries are getting equal amounts of ratings. I did submit a correction for this a few weeks ago (at least I think I did) but I can’t remember if I included details and it may not have been immediately obvious they were dupes due to the way they’ve been named and the confusing can design.

https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/north-brewing-co-track-wylam-lds-mcr-ncl/590967/

The name of the beer is just “LMN”, an acronym of the collaborators’ respective cities, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. The can design features North’s usual branding of removing all the vowels (and in this case most other letters too) which is causing people to think it’s the name.

I propose the beers be merged and the name changed to: North Brewing Co / Track / Wylam LMN (LDS MCR NCL)
This keeps the collaborators in order so the acronym makes sense, and includes the expanded acronym to help with people searching for it that way.

Also here is the commercial description:
LMN is an absolute hop monster, brewed with our friends from the North - Track and Wylam. This hazy DIPA is bursting with huge juicy tropical flavours, balanced with bitter notes with a soft, sweet finish. It’s smooth and easy to drink especially considering it’s an 8.7% belter.

Apologies if I already explained this in the correction and it was simply waiting in the queue.

The Waggon & Horses in Halesowen is now tied to BlackCountry Ales. It’s had a makeover but is still a quality boozer.

Just realised i got that the wrong way round, www.islandales.co.uk is for the drinks distribution business, www.islandbrewey.co.uk is for the brewery.

Should the Grainstore Brewery have a name change?

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/grainstore-40davises-brewing-co41/3225/

We include (Davises Brewing Co) at the end. I think harks back to a time when the brewery was run by Tony Davis and Mike Davies, and was used on pump clips etc. I haven’t seen this in years, and it certain isn’t evident on website, bottles, or pump clips anymore.

I would suggest sticking with.

Yes it looks that way, I have removed the closure notice and added to the comments about a re opening, we should keep an eye out for them. I have kept the beers as retired though.

Website updated.

All done now. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
