Or instead of algorithms and all that new age shit we could just make ratings count via some sort of cosa nostra system where we have to jump people into the gang. Maybe make them chug a barley wine and swear loyalty to RB and to never talk to people who misbrew some beer style and try to pass it off as a kolsch
We can make it initiates hand around and fetch made members kristalweizens or California commons for a year before their shit counts.
This is more or less exactly what I have proposed numerous times, albeit a little simplified and differently phrased.
Many fake ratings would be prevented if ratings wouldn’t count if the raters has fewer than 20 ratings from at least 3 brewers for example
Same should be for Places (at least 3 to 5 reviews before making it count)
This would required more work for fraudulent raters.
Do fraudulent reviewers even bother with RB or BA anymore? This is something that I suspect infiltrates UT more than I can imagine.
Pretty sure most of the “reviews “ on the UT are fraudulent, Bitter!!
Ticks shouldn’t count.
I only tick Cider, Saki and other non-beer stuff, as they are not BEERS and this is called RateBeer. If I wanted them to ‘count’ I could just go back and put ‘Tastes of apples’ or similar and get loads of rates onto my overall score, but I don’t want or need too.
