Oxford this Saturday .... May 19

Hitting Oxford this Saturday with user @stevoj who is over from the states.

If anyone wants to join feel free.

Meeting at Oxford station 11.40.

Probs hit Brewdog first then back towards town.

Won’t be an epic day for me as have a BBQ in the evening so looking to conclude by 17.00 or so.

I would do but I’m going to Oxford with a bunch of Norwegians - on Friday!

Colin - I would seriously consider this place on Saturday if I were you

Walkable from the Station or get a day rider bus ticket that will also get you to The Brewdog on the other side of Oxford.

Cheers for the info Glen.

Tap Social looks good.

I think we will be just hitting bars as opposed to a festival but good to know.

Realise its only 1.25 miles or so from the station to Tap Social but as I haven’t got a huge amount of time … what are taxi prices like in Oxford?

Metred cabs at the station ?

I’d expect this to be no more than £5?

Colin

A taxi shouldn’t be too bad in Oxford, black cabs are the most expensive but there is always a rank full at the station. We use train tickets with plus bus which works well in Oxford. In town your best bet will be The Pint Shop and The White Rabbit.

Did the pint shop last autumn with parents and girlfriend on the tourist trail so was planning on that again … that’s pretty much my only visit to Oxford city centre for 13 years other than gigs at the O2 Academy and whatever random pub nearby.
