I remember a while back, all the places in Hong Kong were organised into the three regions (with the region entered the city): Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and New Territories. Looks like a few places have been added outside of those three.

I think this is the first official bar to fall victim to the virus. Foeders has shut down. They’re hoping to open a Foeders 2.0 in the future.

Really? It just sounded like they were just selling off their cellar. The ‘Foeders 2.0’ bit in their Facebook post just sounded like they were going to update some things while their doors were shut as opposed to shutting operations down permanently.
I did wonder that but there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the UKCBF and the owner responded. Go the impression that they currently incarnation is shutting permanently and they’ll try and start again in the future.
Jeez. I sure hope he’s just phrased it in a way that sparked mild panic more than anything else. I think they took a bit of a risk with the timing of opening their other bar, so the timing of the horeca closures in the Netherlands was… less than ideal for them.

Also could you delete “cerveza” in front of raices? While that’s what it’s called, it’s super annoying delete “cerveza” every time you add a new beer.

Those names should not be altered as they are the real brewer name.
However, the term CERVEZA and CERVECERIA should probably be added the list of terms that are automatically cut on the Beer name (like Brewery, brewing Co.).
I don’t know who is managing this anymore…

Wow, I just edited a place (renamed this place https://www.ratebeer.com/p/bar-spitsa/67689/ from Jawsspot to Bar SPITSA - they rebranded in February)
Has place editing been reopened to the masses or is this just a glitch?

I sincerely hope not, if everybody (including fake accounts) can edit every Places, this will be the final nail in the coffin for the integrity of the database
I actually said something like this on the brewers page a couple of months back. Since it was completely ignored, I just took matters into my own hands to make things easier on the dozens of beers I was entering from cervecerias in Latin America. I agree with you in principal, but it’s easier for someone to go back fill the name of the brewery later than to delete the damn thing while I’m adding like 10-15 beers in a row for newly added breweries. I guess it’s about working with the broken system. Also “microcerveceria” and “Cervezas artesanales.” Also, I’ll probably get around to doing a bunch in Brazil soon, so “Cerveja, Cervejas and Cerverjaria” should all be added to the automatic cut list as well. @services @joet

We were shown the list someone made at some point. It was fascinating. A lot of logical things, but incomplete even for English, with some correct and butchered non-English terms - incorrect “terms”, terms that applied to one brewery in existence while much more obvious ones were missing for the same language.
I corrected them and added some, someone else added some more fixes. My suggestions were skipped, most likely as I at that point wasn’t sucking up to the cool new US programmers or something, to the contrary (I was also disappointed / angry no people with actual beer-linguistic knowledge were consulted), the others got incorporated.
Each and every time the list was brought up since, and suggestions were made, we were squarely ignored.

Exactly. So I’ll continue to add new breweries in Spanish as just the names to save everyone some time when they later add individual beers instead of putting the whole XXX Cerveceria Artesanal
