There are two more entries for this place which can be deleted:
https://www.ratebeer.com/Place/state/city/placename/51319.htm
https://www.ratebeer.com/Place/state/city/placename/47189.htm
Location actually is on the map where two duplicates are located, but reviews and correct informations are on the first one.
Deleted the dupes and fixed the lat/lon of the original to be more precise.

Hard Rock Cafe in Brussels, those places shouldnt be on here, especially when its created by one of their employees as it looks.
Why not? Because you have a somewhat arbitrary definition of what kinds of places should be on a beer (and beer-offering place) rating website? If a place serves beer, then there is no reason for it to not be on RateBeer.
https://www.ratebeer.com/p/craft-draft-bar-amsterdam/50429/
Now that their shop section (which was greatly reduced a few months ago) doesnāt have itsā own entry, the ā(the bar)ā in the place name is a bit redundant.
As a side issue, searching for ācraft & draftā on the new search does not actually result in finding this listing.
Arbitrary? This would be your āIf a place serves beerāā¦so i should and add every bar?
Places should give good advice to where to go for a beer. And considering you are in the city center of Brussel this place does not give any value of beer info for users in my opinion. But yeah maybe just my opinionā¦
I donāt think this thead is really the right place for re-opening the old selective vs inclusive place eligibility criteria debate!
The shop always and still has its own entry: https://www.ratebeer.com/p/craft-draft-shop-amsterdam/51189/
Thatās weird; it doesnāt show up in the search anymore.
I canāt view whole spanish cities, like Bilbao for example. Thereās clearly something wrong - characters (like (xxx) turning up as 40xxx41)? https://www.ratebeer.com/Places/PlaceRatingsByCity.asp?City=bilbao-40bizkaia41&CountryID=183
Thatās a Ratebeer bug in the code, not much an admin can do about that, except perhaps rename it to āBilbao - Bizkaiaā. At the moment itās encoding ( to 40 and ) to 41 respectively in the URL, removing those manually will fix it.
So: https://www.ratebeer.com/Places/PlaceRatingsByCity.asp?City=bilbao-bizkaia&CountryID=183
Definitely one of the things we badly need a fix for (@joet)ā¦there are wayyyyy too many places with parens in the name for us to change them all to a different format now (what would have probably been better in hindsight was just separating the city and province by a comma, and we do have some of those mixed in for Spain already).
Thanks Chris, especially for that quick fix. Iāve submitted the issue via feedback a while ago, nothing happened, so I thought Iād bring it up again.
Just for clarity, nothing was actually fixed per seā¦he just gave you a modified URL that works around the bug. Bilbao is still in the places db with the parens, so you will still have to manually modify the URL for now (remove the ā40ā and ā41ā chars from it). As you can see on the full Spain list below this affects quite a lot of places:
Yes, absolutely. Letās call it a workaround then.
If you add an apostrophe I mean hyphen In a place name it will not work. The way to do it is to add a comma.
Alternatively donāt add districts. They make sense in London or New York but in smaller cities who actually is really that bothered. I.e. I want to know all the places in Bristol, I donāt want to have to review 8 different districts none of which Iāve heard of.
Any news on the hyphens-brackets bug?
It is really annoying finding no places in locations like āAstigarragaā, the basque cider Mecca:
https://www.ratebeer.com/places/city/astigarraga-40gipuzkoa41/0/183/
In some other cities, local admins have modified a few places by request, as they were not listed, but this is just a temporary partial solution. For example, in Oviedo (Spain) you only get 4 places, but there are more than 60 others that there is no way to visualize, if you donĀ“t search for them specifically.
https://www.ratebeer.com/places/city/oviedo-40asturias41/0/183/
There are a lot of locations with brackets or hyphens in their names, in many countries. Place listings are a really important part of this site and right now they are useless in many cases.
This needs an urgent fix.
