#1 and #2 have always been there. #4 had to be reinstated after complaints, #11 may have be there, if “following a place” means anything
I think that none of the other 12 items in the poll have been implemented.
So we shouldn’t even mention that poll…
In the thread people mentioned a few more features:
_ Customization
_ Forum integration
_ Photos
_ What I’m drinking feature
None has been implemented
In the past people asked to roll up beers added by a friend, multiple times: not implemented.
I can’t see in the list where voters chose to have:
- constant reminder to follow more breweries
- constant reminder to rate places I haven’t rated
- witty comments on the score
- 2 weeks roll-up counter for ratings
- top performing breweries 5000km away from me
- and a bunch of other things that were rolled out and then reversed after tons of complaints
And then the visualization choices that hurt usability:
- huge white spaces (ok, you said that research suggests to have empty spaces)
- 4-5 lines of text per item; MJ and I showed you how you can more efficiently write the same in 2 lines
- for new beers added, show the brewery logo rather than the friend avatar, this shows ignorance of how we use the site
- “more items” (or “next page”) not working
And at least a half dozen major bugs that would have been found with just some beta testing.
I’m not saying I support everything that was requested or I’m against everything that was not requested, but I think that there was a community poll and the developer went 180 degrees.
It’s almost as if we are planning to tight the community together by continuously and consciously giving them something to complain about.
