With so many new beers there’s a strong tendency to prefer the new review rather than the old opinion. But you and the beer are a work in process. I recently looked at a beer reviewed by longstanding raters years indeed well over a decade ago and I felt it showed.
Consider how hop preference and beer styles have changed and how you know more about what your palate appreciates.
A second sip may give a very different opinion, even for premium beers.

Completely agree with this. I love revisiting a beer, especially ones I reviewed when I was just discovering good beer back in 2011. So often my early reviews missed the mark or I simply didn’t understand beer styles at that time. I’m always surprised to see negative reviews from ten years ago of highly regarded beers from top raters.
