Some ACCOUNT FINALIZATION (add real username, email and general location) with a CAPTCHA should be required when creating a new account in order to 1. reduce spam and 2. eliminate random XXXYYYNN usernames

More dodgy new users (just from a quick glance at the new users list on this page https://www.ratebeer.com/users ) 40% of the visible “new users” clearly are not.
Not sure what the deal is here - people somehow thinking that this will boost their/ their client’s pagerank/ are somehow otherwise incentivized to stack that list/ hiding something else nefarious.
