https://www.ratebeer.com/tag/1001-beers-you-must-taste-before-you-die/

How many of these have you had? Your personal total will turn up on the right of page one (below the top raters).

Is anyone actually trying to find any of the beers by using the tag?

I am currently on 425 of the beers and do not actively seek them out, so that 425 is pretty impressive in my eyes, shows I am drinking some decent beers.

379 here, but not a book I’ve actively tried to complete.

481 I believe (having looked this stat up as it was posted on the Dutch forum prior as subject line says), but also don’t search for them.

There are some truly terrible beers in that book. I’ve had several rants about them as I thumbed through the pages whilst drinking beers at one of my favourite beer places here.

Books like this are of course written by local delegates - if I remember correctly this one does identify who is responsible for each choice. A few sets of initials did stand out as being more guilty than others.

How can new books get tags on RB? I’d like to know what I score for

I counted my belgian hit-rate a week or so ago, and IIRC I was lacking only two.

For this book, 541, and as you can infer from the above, I’ve not been hunting them out.

I think you do it yourself, but would take some time adding all the beers.

181, but I’ve never cared about this list. I do love that I’m much better at the worst section of the list (American Budweiser? PBR? Bintang? Tsingtao? Sarajevsko?)

It’s worth pointing out that 1.018 beers are tagged here, so it’s not even an accurate tag.

Not necessarily. Some English beers may exist in both live and dead formats. That only 17 beers fit that criterion is perhaps the surprising thing (but I say that as someone who would put a lot of real ales (also available pasteurised in bottle) in my top 1001).
