What is your excellent, everyday local beer that most have never heard of?

This site allows us to brag about our favorite local beer to an appreciative worldwide audience. Many local beers have limited distribution despite their excellence. I doubt that I am the only one here who regularly enjoys a beer with less than 50 ratings. Every time I travel back to my home town in southern Minnesota I stock up on Kato Lager from Mankato Brewery. It is a top ten Dortmunder/Helles with only 11 ratings. I
hink it deserves a shout out here, and makes me wonder what other local favorites are lurking.

To qualify as an everyday beer, it can’t be a one-off or commemorative beer; year round distribution is best.

I wouldn’t brag about my favorite local fishing spots, but an excellent yet obscure beer is different: visitors are welcome.

Augustiner Pilsener, even somewhat rare in Munich, but a lovely aromatic south German Pils.

almost every local beer I rate has 0-5 ratings.

I second Augustiner Pilsener, and add to that Gut Forsting Export Hell.

Sillamae Munchen Vaskne. Apparently available in Germany also - we Estonians seem to be able to sell sand to the Arabs!

Strange Craft Breakfast Grapefruit IPA, very tasty clear IPA and well balanced. Also Wit’s End Lindhauer Lager a nice easy drinking Urtyp lager.

I don’t have one yet, but in my time in Alaska I found myself going back to Bleeding Heart Brewing’s Grounds for Divorce Coffee Porter every time I made it to their nano brewery.

Oh, yeah, that used to be good if you liked traditional brews. However, Sakiškių Pastrami is what all the cool kids drink nowadays

that seems way too old school for cool kids. I fondly remember drinking Pipeworks Pastrami On Rye in 2014.

Fourth generation Chicagoan, many great breweries. My nomination is from a smaller brewery people may not have heard of with great offerings. You can purchase tLe Jus today, tomorrow, or anytime you visit:

Alarmist Brewing - Le Jus (2018 GABF Gold Winner best NEIPA). 26 ratings on RB. People need to pick this up. NEIPA is not my favorite style (not close), but this is one of of the best I’ve had, likely because it is balanced, not a pastry bomb.

Lynnwood Brewing Mosaic Pale Ale.
Brewed 10 miles from my house. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My everyday local beer is Simon Pils.
It’s a simple but honest Pils that tastes good in almost every situation.
By the way, since May 30th I’ve rated almost 250 different beers and ciders, Simon Pils is still the only one I gave the full five stars.

Torn Label Alpha Pale Ale

22 reviews, though it’s been out for years.
