The billionaire behind the Chobani yogurt brand has acquired Anchor Brewing Co. with plans to modernize and reopen the historic San Francisco brand that closed last year after 127 years in operation.

More on this. Lightning strikes twice, huh.

I share Alworth’s skepticism about whether the brewery can be viable where it is, but there could be something there (a redevelopment with a brewpub below residential development with other beer brewed elsewhere is maybe something a patient owner could do). Either way, I will buy lots of Old Foghorn if I see it again.
