Anchor has met its Pearl Harbor - don’t sell family owned breweries to Sapporo!
Reading between the lines, it may have been case of over expanding. Hence maybe they had no other choice. Sapporo was clearly less evil than some other options (like abinbev).

They didn’t - they sold to some “former Skyy vodka executives”. But once you’re sold to anybody, you can be sold to anybody.

Scooped up a 12 pack of Anchor Steam…still drinks really nice.

I’ve enjoyed their beers for a number of years, both sides of the Atlantic, sorry to see them go.
Just checked, only had 9 different beers of theirs, so maybe I wasn’t such a fan after all.
