OK, as others have mention regions (and added their Willy Waving numbers) I will also join in.
My Top Regions; they need 119.3 rates to make 1% of my ratings.
California 8%
Shropshire 4.0%
Bavaria 3.9%
The Smoke 3.6%
West Yorks 2.6%
West Flanders 2.5%
Staffordshire 2.2%
Manchester and West Mids 2.1%
North Yorks 2.0%
A further 13 regions over 1% but not reaching the giddy heights of 238 rates yet!
Suffolk
Lothian
Catalonia
Lincs
Somerset
Gloucestershire
Notts
Cornwall
Derbyshire
South Yorks
East Flanders
Flemish Brabant
Norfolk
So a nice spread across six countries and Lincolnshire!
This time however, no need to put your ‘Willy Waving’ rating totals, just the percentage. Give the new guys and lower raters a chance to play without feeling inadequate or unwanted.
List your top countries that total more than 1% of your overall rating total.
England 44.9% US 13.8% Germany 8.4% Belgium 8.0% Scotland 4.8% Wales 2.6% Spain 1.8% Netherlands 1.7% France 1.2% Denmark 1.0%
So ten countries over 1.0%, giving me 88.2% of my ratings, leaving 11.8% from the rest of the world.
Time to re-visit:
England 43%
US 15.6%
Germany 8.3%
Belgium 7.5%
Scotland 4.6%
Wales 2.5%
Spain 1.8%
Netherlands 1.7%
France 1.1%
Denmark has fallen off the list, only 9 countries with over 1% of my ratings: 86.1% of my rating in just 9 countries, 13.9% from another 146.
Regions list is interesting (to me anyway).
California 9.4% (1212 rates)
Shropshire 3.9%
Bavaria 3.8%
London 3.5%
West Yorks 2.6%
West Flanders 2.3%
Manchester 2%
W Midlands 2%
Staffordshire 2%
A further 12 regions have over 1% of my total ratings (more than 129.27 rates).
@Jerseyislandbeer, you might want to have another look at your maths and then re-list your totals. 1% of your ratings = 36 and I am sure you’ve had more than that number from a few countries.
Surprisingly my English rate percentage has actually increased since last time. New Zealand is now on my list but Australia has dropped off interestingly. My number of Welsh rates is still crap.
@BlackHaddock ha ha, yes maths not my strongest! this makes more sense -

And comparing to now, there is still 18 countries on the list. Japan has dropped off, but Spain has replaced them. Interestingly one of my next three beers needs to be Spanish for Spain to stay on the list. (This is doable, thanks @Taboada )
In total now only 17.01% comes from the other 201 countries, down from 17.38%.

May need to look in my fridge to try to find four more beers from West Flanders to give me 11 from 6 countries…
Netherlands 39,6%
Belgium 15,9%
Germany 8,1%
United States 6.7%
England 3,8%

It must be where we live. For me England is 73.7; Scotland 5.25; Wales 3.29 with only the US at 6.4% intruding on my resolute provincialism.
Italy, Belgium, Germany make up the remainder of my 1%ers.
Let’s think of this as an ecological move!
Only 6 countries make up 92% of rates. If I go to regions its gets more spread although mostly still US with the loan exception being a little known beer producing region called Bavaria
1 year on from my last post in here let’s see what’s changed…
Turns out it’s the same 13 countries but a few have moved places.
Nothing of any interest to talk about.

Didn’t post region stats last time so nothing to compare to. 23 regions above 1% accounting for 66% of my rates.
Over the year my English percent has increased marginally to 73.71; US correspondingly dropped to 6.38 and since I don’t go to Brewdog as I once did Scotland has dropped a little too 5.21, as has Wales. However various threads on here have boosted my consumption of European beers, albeit still below the 1% level.
More striking is the plummet in my consumption - just 350 in the last 12 months; so basically halved. And as prices soar I will probably buy less and seek out quality wherever it’s available. It’s a different world.
