BotM May’24: Kölsch

I haven’t come across that many examples at breweries in the last month. Will be on the lookout.

You only have 10 days my friend. My Colorado work trip is making it easy I’ve even had to pass over more than a few to chase different stats.

Kölsch gets its unique taste from its hybrid brewing process. It’s made with ale yeast but finished at cold lager temperatures. This combo gives it a clean, crisp finish with a hint of fruity and spicy notes which makes it super refreshing and easy to drink.

I’m happy with a proper Kolsch. I would say something like 80% of the Kolsch brewed in the US that I’ve tried is overly sweet estery garbage.

If I could just get another work trip to North Rhine-Westphalia and carve out some time to be in Cologne, I’ll be just fine

Went on a trip to NOLA and in three days or so managed to drink 5 Kölsches:
