BREWERS: Issues Reporting - Please Post Here for modifications

Nah … unless a new recipe I’d have that as the same beer

This one isn’t actually a brewery.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/vyborgsky-pivovarenny-zavod/54140/

In actual fact the brewery known as First Jump (https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/first-jump-brewery/45306/) acquired the trademark Vyborgsky Pivovarenny Zavod and started using it to sell beers. Hence why they have the same address.

The brewery itself, at some point Finland’s second-largest (when the town of Vyborg was part of Finland), was shut down after its acquisition by Heineken in the 00s.

In my haste to add this new brewery

I entered the wrong county! Should be Lancashire, not Merseyside - very very sorry, please can someone fix it?

Smart Brothers Brewing appear to have moved 5km down the road to 5/1 Bray St, Hastings.

A reminder to myself that this wasn’t fully handled.

Timeline:

Mornington Peninsula Brewery:
-Watt Street brewpub + Latham Street produciton facility
-2018 - gets sold to Tribe
-early 2020 - brewpub taken over by initial owners, they call it Tar Barrel, but they make new beers under the Mornington Peninsula brand, and MPB’s official address remains that of the brewpub
-mid 2020 - production facility sold to Hop Nation (and HN’s Mornington place seems to have closed recently?), production moved to Tribe’s main plant
-Nov 2022ish - MPB brewpub fully becomes Tar Barrel, beers and brewpub and all. MPB continues on as a brand of Tribe, brewed there.

What needs/needed to be done:
-close MPB place entry (done)
-change MPB brewery entry to client brewer, make a note of all the changes
-create a Tar Barrel brewery entry, then the place entry
-move TB beers there (the ones TB brewed under the MPB brand can be discussed)

I’ll do it today or tomorrow I guess.

@hawthorne00 does that look sensible?

Yes I think so @Marko . I don’t know whether they are completely disentangled but they seem to operate independently. I have been adding beers with the Tar Barrel name where appropriate so it should be clear which ones to move.

I’m not sure whether I already posted an image like this here, but here’s a picture of a Mornington Peninsula can from today:

Note this uses the Watt Rd address but doesn’t quite claim it was brewed there.

Thanks.

Exactly, I guess the arrangement was that the “company HQ” officially stays at the address, for marketing reasons among others - that’s the only thing the Tribe really needs, for the brand to show its roots, and it can be brewed anywhere else.

This lot have snuffed it:

This brewery is a brand owned by a company called Kicks & Kegs. So based in Brixton:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/avenue-road-beer-supply/53236/

Although K&K were dissolved in August 24 so presume the brewery is no longer around.

This lot have started brewing their own beers - first was available today - so should be changed to a brewpub, please.

Also connected the place entry to the brewery entry to avoid someone accidentally creating a duplicate place.

This lot got kicked out of the oub they were based at. That pub is now a tanning salon. The guy who ran Crop was also the brewer at Tap It , who are now called Unity and have a different brewer. Did a search and I see that the guy is now head Brewer at Hawkstone (yeah the Jeremy Clarkson one) up in the Cotswolds, so I think it’s now safe to close Crop:

I just added a beer to Brewdog (Australia) and want to flag that the situation’s a bit messy and could use a tidy up and some guidance. I think I was right to add what I did as new beer (more than 10% different ABV, sure seems to be different hops) but I what do I know. Some I’ve previously added on that kind of basis too (the US named version is an amber lager), but I see some I’ve thought were pretty much the same as normal BrewDog entries like Ald IPA I’ve rated under the Scots entry but others have thought otherwise.
