Not yet, but in the Thank you thread there are moves afoot to get proper forums. How long it takes Brewver to accommodate the expansion required for us hordes is not clear.

Has anybody else gotten: Our database is currently busy handling imports and will be activated again if ressources are available?

Yes, it appears off and on. They are caught between dealing with thousands files being uploaded in the past few weeks, and working to increase their capacity. I still have 2 more uploads to go.

I have noticed the same.
I will upload mine too, but are in no hurry.
Hope they get the DB tuned well for the new load of users and beers.

Yeah, patience and tolerance is the name. Everyone’s uploading tens of thousands of reviews there. People are at the same time live rating, admining the site etc. I’ve had to write a bunch of things again here and there when it got too much, but it’s going to be like that now and then not really any time soon, and should be a comfortable experience once the storm of imports is on. They are doing a huge job for us there!

Important note - beers with names containing the pipe sign “|” will not transfer properly.

I’m going through my RB and Brewver lists and this appears to be a fairly common cause. Others are often aliased/merged beers sometimes. You can get comments for some with each import - the others you’ll have to hunt down yourself… Not that many (the discrepancy was 40-ish to my 19500 roughly, including 13 sakes), but hey…

A good thing is that you can chronologically set them where they should be.

Brewver has been my backup site for the past 2 years. Now that RateBeer is going down, I’ll need a backup site for Brewver. Does anyone know of another site that allows mass imports of ratings? Or do they all have to be manually imported?

Pretty sure that untappd doesn’t have this capability. I have no idea about Beer Advocate.

Starr Hill The Love and New Belgium Sunsine did not get transferred. I am missing 5 rates, but not sure which ones.

As far as I remember BA is owned by the same company as untappd? If this is true, then I hardly see any point of choosing BA over brewver or untappd. Brewver at least is completely independent.

Yes, Next Glass is the owner of BA. I believe BA has some features closer to RB (ie rating places), but haven’t really used it for rating.

Brewver is my first option, but the financial aspect of independece make me a bit cautious,

I got some notification on UT recently along the lines of “Enjoyed your beer? Why not talk about it in the Beer Advocate forums?” which I thought was odd, but now it makes sense.

RE: Finances, if it was made clear what was needed, through a premium account, or fund-raiser, or even select advertising, I think for the sake of an independent site that works well, the vast majority of us would be fine with contributing.
