Carlsberg to close Banks’s Brewery in Wolverhampton (only 150 years old) next year.

I doubt this came as a surprise to many, but still disheartening to see our brewing history being dismantled by (a) large corporation(s).

I see also that Shepherd Neame are going to move away from cask beer and focus on ‘craft’ …

EDIT - see today that Shepherd Neame have affirmed their commitment to cask despite reports to the contrary, so not the big deal I thought it might be

Reads like they will still available in bottles? Still need to try Banks’s Mild as part of the #mj500.
