My friend and International Beer Drinker Fred Waltman passed away yesterday. Lovely guy, wasn’t on RateBeer but a lot of us knew him I’m sure.

Yeah, pubcrawled with Fred last time in Prague, helped him out with some info… missed him last time that he was here though. 
Fantastic guy… Czech Republic’s beer scene lost two huge fans and promoters within a week…

I met Fred, his dad (also now gone) and the beer writer Evan Rail on an arranged Prague trip years ago; Fred and I had first met in Belgium, he loved his beer.

Saw something about it on Twitter. Had never met the man but he seemed like a passionate, old-school beer geek. Condolences to those who knew him.

Another person sadly departed that I don’t think that I’d met, however I followed him and his travels on Twitter and he seemed an extremely knowledgeable guy, another sad loss
