OK, anyone can join in with this, no matter how many beers you’ve rated.
Take your total rates and see how many countries have more than 1% of your total.
I’m amazed how few are in my little list. I must try and drink stuff from further afield when possible. last time I did this I am sure Poland and Denmark were above the 1% cut-off.
That’s 95% of my total ratings! Germany and Denmark. are the only two countries in my top 11 most rated that I have not visited.
Denmark makes the list despite only having had two new ratings from there since 2018. (It would be super interesting to graph my 20+ years of ratings and see how the countries shift in rank / proportion over time… but I am not going to put that level of effort in! Canada has certainly dominated the last 3+ years as I travel less and we see fewer imports of note.)
Just over 1500 rates in total, so 1% is 15, meaning 8 countries make my list (covering just over 90% of my rates) - heavily UK-centric for me, no surprise. Hungary features after a little trip to Budapest between Christmas and New Year, Poland is thanks to Beer52 and a local Polish food shop.
Based on Ratebeer… half the countries I’ve been to qualify cos I rate a beer from each one and not a lot else! So 162 rates means 2 beers to feature on the list, 61 countries rated, 24 of which are over 1%

note that this is partly based on where beers are listed under on a certain app, so in terms of where things are brewed Belgium is a lot higher and Denmark and Sweden somewhat lower!
I hardly drink any forn beer these days because it’s hard to find and so damned expensive. Plus rating-wise there’s a diminishing return on the famous Germans, Belgians etc.
Here’s my list.i need 75 beers to make the 1% list.
Nine countries make my 1% cut off, with Denmark two rates shy:
English rates make up 66% of my total but it used to be higher. I did have a thing about trying to get into as many regional top 50’s as I can for England but it was so hard I gave up!
Like most I have a chasm between the home nations and the rest with my Italian wife accounting for Italy’s unexpectedly high ranking. I have been trying to add to the German and Belgian totals while in Europe but they remain very much on the shallow end. And I am guessing my US total has largely peaked. As for percentages, that’s beyond my numeracy.
