205 Regions and counting

Italy should be GtG too, there are already three with the full 20 set. @fonefan and @daniele @labeerinthum

Thanks for all the hard work.

I did less well in Italy than I thought only 10/20. But I should be heading back in Next few years.

I lived there for 2 years and had a few trips. Still only ended up at 14/20.

I actually found a Southland brewery while I was sorting out places, so all regions have active breweries. One just no rates yet.

Awesome! Ya and there’s a lot more there that needs to be added I’m sure in terms of breweries nobody has visited and entered yet. Cities like Monterrey and Guadalajara I’m imagining have tons these days but nobody has entered or visited from RB. Every time I go I enter like 5-10 new breweries just from the one or two areas I’m in.

Looks like I’ve got 18 regions in Mexico! Sweet. Predictably looks like Baja California is the heaver hitter in Mexico. Tied for most despite never having been there and being to Mexico City like three times in the last 6 years or so. Fitting because the scene in Baja kind of spills over from San Diego.

I’m expecting Tamaulipas and Sinaloa will probably be the hardest. Not a lot of tourists or hipster breweries in those states.

Looks like this brewery is missing, should be in Quintana Roo. Otherwise all mine are accounted for with that.

Not rush anyway, just putting it here as alert.

It looks like you retired this brewery.

Fixed. From everything I see it looks like they’re no longer in business so I’ll retire.

I have a feeling there are a lot of Mexican breweries that need to be retired on here. Don’t have time to check out every one myself but if you come across any let me know and I’ll update them. Likewise any that happen to be missing their state.

I found also “El conventico” but I think its a homebrewer, so no rateable here.

Anyway, I’ve contacyed them by email…just in case. :grinning:

Ya the trouble is that a lot of stuff that’s basically glorified home brew actually gets sold at some of the beer bars on draft. The scene is really dynamic right now, so all kinds of people are getting into it. At the same time it means lots of sudden appearances and quicker disappearances, sudden name changes, and places that appeared but have no marketing/address. I’ve added some where I just roughly guessed “mexico city” or something. It’s harder to tell when stuff retires too without many boots on the ground.

This goes for Argentina and Chile as well these days.

I end up updating a lot every time I visit, on top of adding new ones. In a couple months if I’m vaxxed and things are a little more open I’m due to visit mexico again for some dental work.

Edit: I didn’t read your whole post @Taboada , sorry. Thought you were talking about a Mexican brewery that was added.

Chile should be done now. Nobody has more than 11 ticked off but a full set is possible. However, there’s no longer an active brewery in Arica, and there are I think 3 other regions with only 1 or 2 breweries. Very difficult country to complete!

Nice. Cheers! Looks like I have 8 ticked off based on a single weekend visit that involved a couple of beer bar visits and a visit to a particularly well-stocked supermarket full of singles from all over the place.

Also, just finished French small towns. Damn there were a lot of Saints! And a lot of small towns added, mostly with like one beer store. Or a 3 brasseurs.

Also, once the grunt work is done on allocating breweries/places to regions, I’ll probably get serious about going in an adding like a million breweries to the split latin american countries so far. Basically you can pick a semi-large town these days, google search breweries and add like 5 new ones in now time from Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina. Probably Uruguay too but I’ll wait until that one is split to save later work.

Shouldn’t beers from the newly added breweries in Quintana Roo show up at Find Beers in Quintana Roo?

When I click that for a region I find it takes me to a black page with a pull down menu. You can find the region, but it takes that extra step. So probably it should be set up so that clicking that “find beers from X region” takes you directly to a page that looks like this, right?
https://www.ratebeer.com/state/quintana-roo/578/

Is that what you mean?

This is the page I am taking about, but it seems the newly added breweries beers are not listed.

Good work with the new region admins - is looking good.

Just a quick heads up if for example anyone needs extra Brazil regions, I had hardly any until late last year when Beerdome started to get regular shipments/restocks of new beers every couple of months. Beer quality has overall been impressive - they currently have 72 Brazilian beers from 18 different breweries Brazil - Beerdome

Sadly they no longer deliver to the UK.

<*))))))><

Damn, I know some of these are also at other bottle pushers throughout the EU - but probably the same issue with delivery to the UK I would expect.

Just placed an order and have managed to include 6 new breweries across 6 new Brazil regions

Yeah there’s definitely a bug with those pages. A lot of the new regions for many countries are either blank or only showing 1 or 2 breweries.
