Not convinced that Bucktrouts Quality Drinks should have ever been added as a brewery - they were a drinks merchants who seemed to just sell a rebadged beer from Liberation. Note that on here the beer actually has Liberation in the name.
I say ‘were’ because having googled Bucktrouts it turns our that they no longer exist - they are now called Liberation Quality Drinks. Wonder if they were bought by Liberation or were always just part of Liberation?
It seems that Fox Hat are either a part of Vale Brewing or that both fall under the umbrella of Vok Beverages. The Fox Hat can I’m drinking says Vale Brewing but gives the address as 252 Blewitt Springs Road McLaren Flat SA 5171 (a different location to Vale), so perhaps the latter. On the other hand this Crafty Pint piece makes Fox Hat sound like just a Vale brand. Note (a) that that beer’s name needs to be changed to Fox Hat Bearded Mongrel; and (b) that both Hobo and Three Oaks also belong to Vok Beverages.
I added this brewery as being based in London, based on the Companies House listing. However now that I have a bottle in front of me I see the address is on there is in Scotland: 64A Cumberland Street, Edinburgh, EH3 6RE.
Legitimately so too. Alberto showed me the pictures of the beer and putting them as the Commissioner seemed legit from the packaging. Brewed in Italy ofc, not even in Rome I think.
I feel like these two need to be merged, but I’m not going to pretend to be a VT expert, maybe I’m wrong?
From what I can tell the owner/brewer and all social media are exactly the same:
The dscription for this brewery https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/ashover-brewery/8439/ needs to be revised. In particular the whole setence beginning “Most of the output is sold at the adjacent Old Poets Corner pub and …” shoukld be deleted. The Poets Corner was given up in 2019 (and is now run by Titanic - this has be correctly altered in Places). In fact the brewery told me it is not currently possible to obtain their beer anywhere in Ashover !
Front Royal has just changed their name to Vibrissa. Not sure if this means we should change all the names of every beer or just change the names of the ones they keep brewing as we move forward? It’s just a rebrand though, so I don’t think anything needs to be retired yet per se. Same location (though they are opening a new one). The easiest to do is probably just to rename every beer Vibrissa unless it’s retired?
Added this brewery (presume they are a commissioner- certainly the version I had was brewed at a local brewry to me in Surrey). Was going to report it as I could not get the umlaut to work but I also somehow included some of the address in the name.
