A brewery with just 13 beers listed but under 3 different brewery names !

I got a reply from Green Duck. They says it’s the same basic beer but the recipe was tweaked, so they are not identical. We will therefore have two separate entries on RateBeer

Interesting… I’ll add and rate, thanks. I need to be more proactive in contacting breweries…

This beer is now available in Norway but ABV is 5.0% Still the same beer?

It’s odd to see a UK beer with a higher ABV for the Scandinavian market. It always used to be the other way around when I lived there.

The beer is 4.5% in the UK now so the ABV difference is fractionally more than 10% which would trigger the creation of a new entry, but I’d be inclined to have just one entry with a note stating that there is also a 5% version available for the Scandinavian market.

Any other opinions?

forget 10% … mythical old skool tickers figure to generate a new rate for new rates sake.

I don’t think it was ever held to 10% either … more like 15% ish but again in context.

4.5 vs 5 … brewers fluctuate regularly like this between batches.

New beer if there is a difference listed on the recipe … not by that meagre ABV tweak.

Q Brewery in Leicestershire has closed. I hardly ever saw their beers despite being local-ish, still a shame.

Daleside in North Yorkshire has been acquired by Roosters (also in North Yorkshire)

This Polly’s beer has fallen foul of naming conventions. Plus it is ‘Limitations’ (plural).

Shouldnt the Rye River beers be renamed to Rye River as they are now using that instead of mcgargles? https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/mcgargles-little-bangin-ipa/490703/

Please delete this beer

Possibly. Probably. They discontinued the McGargles brand a couple of years ago from what I could find out, but we’ll have to look into this more because it seems there might have been several aliases and/or renames co-existing at the same time in some cases, need to check if they’re different beers or not.

Just taking one beer as an example:
https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/mcgargles-dan-s-double-ipa/660188/
https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/mcgargles-double-banging-ipa/490701/

https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/rye-river-double-banging-ipa/1181004/

4 names for the same beer apparently, and only 1 is aliased. I’ll see if I can look into this mess over the weekend and sort them all out.

I did a few tidy up of duplicates on these a while back … whole brewery listing was a bit of a mess.

I would say its a very nice to have to re-order stuff like this … but …

There’s more important admin work to be done fixing errors

So long as these beers aren’t duplicated and are aliased correctly, one way or another, I would leave be for now

Not anything to do with housekeeping, but I see that Eebiris have folded. Obviously pre-arranged because Beer52 stepped in straight away to buy them.
