FIFA World Cup Virtual Bar Friday 15th June

As I said in an earlier post, I just couldn’t be bothered to trawl the websites looking for 32 interesting offerings from around the world: good going for those that did have a go.

Same here, would be cool to do but yeah… too much effort required for some of them.

That bloke’s done well to get all 32 countries (some of the African and especially Middle Eastern ones are nigh on impossible to find here) but it’s a shame 95% of his haul is shite lagers I’d have little to no interest in drinking (except where it would be a new country tick for me), I feel the payoff is not really worth the effort there.

Much more interesting options available from many of participating countries. I only have 7 of the 32 myself but all quality and all interesting, personally I’m much happier with this than to have 32 uninteresting offerings.

Yes, a lot of effort for very little ‘reward’ is how I saw it. Pale Lagers have never been my thing, even in hot countries, but to get a country rate you often have to take ‘the hit’.

I may either stay up late to watch Egypt v Uruguay (starts at midnight) or get up early for Spain v Portugal (starts at 6am :/). Most likely I will do neither. I’ll see how the night goes.

OK everyone, bar opens at 13:00 British Summer Time, aslo the Kick-Off time of today’s first match; Egypt v Uruguay.

I have two lawns to cut before I can begin drinking, but if someone wants to have a preemptive strike please do.

My first beer of the day will be a cheap French Supermarket one. It’s name is of a Scottish city and a player in England’s World Cup squad. Guest anyone?

I have my little 25cl bottle of ‘Sterling’ in front of me, alongside an old Veltin’s glass. So a French Blonde in a German Pilsner tulip first up for me: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/sterling-blonde/274593/

Any good? The few beers that I’ve tried from that brewery have left a lot to be desired, and that’s coming from someone who actually likes pale lagers.

Drinking tea here (because I’m at work), but listening to commentary of the match.

Bloody awful, as you said, St Omer don’t do good beers.

Currently watching sober at work. But for the second half I will be joining with a glas sparkling wine as a colleague recently got married. Beer drinking starts with the Spain-Portugal match.

I am sat in my living room with my lap top on the coffee table and the TV behind it. Sunny and warm here in Shropshire.

I’ll be going to a beer festival later in the afternoon. Lots of German beers there.

0-0 at half-time, another beer is calling from the fridge, the aforementioned Weisse Bier next.

Ready fir the second half.
No beer from Egypt nor Uruguay…so…a touch of Russia.

Warsteiner Moscow Mule

Awful beer, unbalanced lime and slightly vodka finish.

Bugger, didn’t realise it was an 8.2% ABV brew!

Yes I had that at a tasting last Monday, terrible cocktail beer in my eyes.

<*))))))><

Yeah. Its terrible. I dont know if Vodka (well balanced) could fit well with beer but obviosuly this is not the case.

It was the lime and ginger twist I didn’t like.
