I was waiting for an automated categorization of beers according to the new style for quiet some time. Not sure if this ever happened but it looks like if admins are mostly doing the work. Thanks a lot for the effort!!!
This seems to just be a hazy double IPA with lactose, which is not a milkshake by the standards of this site, which are that a milkshake IPA contains lactose and some sort of flavouring.
All other flavoured sour IPAs have gone into sour IPA, so I think this should stay there too. Clearly a local admin agrees since it is verified.
That category is supposed to be for pumpkin / vegetables like pumpkins, e.g. sweet potato, parsnip, yams etc. I think cucumber beer probably belongs best under other.
My guess is the āhoppyā aspect makes the local admin think this is not a real tripel.
I donāt think this has adjuncts.
I cannot find a description for this so no idea whether it should be changed.
Precisely, but it definitely uses adjuncts, cacao nibs at the very least. The ceased and desisted batch (the last one) had ādouble the amount of cacao nibsā according to Henok (I canāt find this quote right now but Iāll have a look for it). I believe the peanut butter flavouring is, like the vast majority of peanut flavoured beers, a flavour extract, rather than actual nuts, hence why itās ok for nut allergy sufferers. Iād still class that as an adjunct. I believe it also has vanilla in it but again, canāt find my source for this. I have an empty bottle with the label still on somewhere so Iāll try and find it and provide some sort of āproofā for what I just said. I could have sworn it had various ingredients listed but I could be wrong.
I agree with Iznogud that it should be in the flavored style on RB.
EDIT: Ok so I found my bottle. Turns out lactose is the only adjunct listed. However, Yellow Belly Sundae, which is the same beer but barrel aged, does in fact list all the adjuncts (cacao nibs, lactose, vanilla beans, peanut aroma, biscuit aroma) so Iām attaching a photo of that:
The ādoesnāt contain peanut or biscuitsā point is in regard to it using those āaromasā ā¦ whatever that means, presumably a flavour extract. But even if not counting those as adjuncts the cacao and vanilla are.
Collaboration with Barrier Brewing Co.
Soft, sweet aromas of Clementine, Cantaloupe & nectarine give this IPA a tropical juice vibe with papaya & passion fruit getting involved when you take a sip. Mosaic, Centennial & Columbus work together to give the upfront juicy lusciousness whilst also lending some dank character to the back end, with just a touch of pithy orange finishing this beauty off before the journey starts again.
this beer wonāt show up in searches because the apostrophe in āIāmā is actually an angled quote mark which isnāt on normal keyboards and can usually only be typed thanks to autocorrect. Best rename it using a proper apostrophe: Beerbliotek I'm So Aware This Is Happening
Also description:
this is a white stout not an export stout, but in any case it contains cacao nibs, vanilla and cranberries, so should probably be changed to Stout - Flavored.
