1/2 year check of 2019 beer goals

My 2019 goals and ½ way through:
A. A white month in Jan, started it again so 1/31 part Done! ½: Can also tell that the
erysipelas helped a lot to avoid alcoholic beverages of all kinds😉.
B. 185 countries, currently at 177. // ½: 189 and one in the cellar, ie Done thx to friendly traders!
C. 355 Swedish breweries currently at 323. ½: Currently 340 – over 50% of the goal.
D. Average from 3,26 to 3,27 – ½: Done 3,27 and will not drink any more bad beers😉
E. H index for countries from 27 to 32 – // ½: Still at 27 … this one is not going well, and I’m been really focusing but struggling.
F. H index for styles from 48 to 53 – // ½: 49, tougher than expected and with the new styles created didn’t help at all vs this goal.
G. Go to Brussels and Fix the Faros up to 10 – hard // ½: Stil 5! Had an Eylenbosch Faro Extra – 88 but not rateable. Manage to find a De Cam Faro at Beer Planet and a Timmerman at Indian bottle shop in Brussels. Can not really see that this will happen…
H. Regions from 107 to 115 // ½: 110 – will be hard.

Goal: Top 54 rater (now 52 doing ok)
No of beerstyles >200 31 (now 30 need 10 bitters will be difficult. Trip to Manchester maybe in october)
No of beerstyles >100 57 (now 54 cant do it with the new beerstyles)
No of beerstyles > 50 74 (now 70 might happen if the styledatabase will be updated)
No of beerstyels <20 30 (now 34 might happen if the styledatabase will be updated)
No of beerstyles <10 20 (now 16 so done!)
Countries goal 170 (now 173 done)
Countries >200 goal 15 (15 done)
Countries >100 goal 20 (now 19 need 3 ireland)
Countries >50 goal 31 (done)
Countries >20 goal 45 (now 43 close but difficult)
Countries > 10 goal 57 (now 59 done)
States > 100 goal 11 (now 9 need 3 schleswig Holsten and Hessen and they are in the celler)
States >50 goal 29 (now 28 will be difficult without an english festival)
States >20 goal 68 (now 67 with luck…)
States > 10 goal 88 (done)
Places goal reach 600 (now 593 will happen I hope)
Events goal reach 100 (now 95 might not happen)

My 2019 beer goals include rating less beers and spending far less on craft beer, and I’ve done a great job of both.

2019 goals:

1. Rate less. 2018 was way too crazy. I’m not sure this will happen because I have already bought tickets for 3 different festivals, including MBCC, but this is the main aim.
2. Travl to at least 3 new EU capitals.
3. Meet more rbeerians.
4. Keep ticking hard to get styles. At the moment 17 styles have less than 30 ratings, I will try to get it down to 12. If the style change should finally happen, then will try to get 10 of every style.
5. Secondary goal: get 5 more counties ticked (at the moment 105) and get 4 new countries ticked (at the moment 106).

1. Unless I stop rating in rb, will not happen
2. Done. No more new capitals planned this year.
3. Met Danish crew, some nice Finns, hopefully will meet more beer-y people around Bxl Fest.
4. This is on pause as rb has still not fixed the styles (why are 2 mead styles under beer styles?!) and admins have not put big effort into fixing styles as things may change… At the moment I have 11 beer styles under 10+another 17 beer styles under 20. Unlikely that I will reach 10 of each style, even if things are fixed.
5. 2 new countries ticked and 1 in untappd backlog (so 3 in toal), 3 new counties ticked. I guess the goal of 110 countries and counties may be reached in this year.

> • Improve Ratings in my home Region (Rhineland-Palatinate). Currently at 453. This includes trying to get every brewey (53/74)
→ Lived in Berlin the first half so only up to 463. Will rise till end of the year. Maybe 500. No new brewery yet.

> • Explore Berlin and surroundings. Visit all Berlin breweries and rate 1 of each. Currently at 35/77 breweries and at 132 rates.
Got that well covered in the 6 months I lived there. 61/82 breweries, misisng ones mostly client brewers and very small ones with bad beer. 424 rates now so almost 300 new!

I am quite happy so far with how I get along. Trying to finish the open goals now.
