PLACES: Issues Reporting - Please Post Here for modifications

Someone cloned it from a brewery but didn’t edit it then. Fixed and prettied up the entry with detail.

This is a tough one, as the homebrew shop functions separately in some ways, like online. It seems like it should be joined together at first, but there are arguments for keeping these two separate as well (only with some rating movement)…

To be honest I don’t see why. We don’t rate homebrew shops in rb. But even if we did, it is literally one big room, one corner has small bar with a couple of taps and there are some seats where you can sit, the other corner has a counter, in the back there is brewing equipment. There is no meaningful difference between the two.

It’s not as clean-cut a decision as it seems (and trust me, I prefer those). We actually do rate homebrew shops, there has been a homebrew shop category on RB for over a decade.

As a place - of course, but it’s not only the physical location that plays into it (neither the first nor the last 2 places in one setup) - which site would you put - do we ignore the brewery or the HB shop part? Obviously not the brewery, right? But what about the ratings that are for the HB shop only? They don’t apply to the brewery. They could be someone ordering from their site.

The places are literally separate everywhere online, including owner-run pages - only we would have some LX Brewery / Oficina de Cerveja Frankenstein-style entry.

Oh holy shit, even more things now play into it. It had moved XD. Wingman rated the old location. :sigh:

Homebrew shops without any beers (what will go under selection then)?! Then there are some places that can be added in Estonia… I would have assumed homebrew shops must also sell some beer?!

In this case as I said earlier they are for all intentions and purposes the same place, there is no meaningful difference between them (as far as physical location goes). In the end it doesn’t matter to me too much, I can just copy+paste my review. I just think it will be confusing for anyone who actually wants to visit the place.

There are other places with multiple websites, I usually just pick one.

Btw Lisboa places are almost 100% up-to-date now.

Selection - selection of homebrew ingredients, equipment etc.

Well - again, we would be the only ones having them together, and apart from the physical location, which definitely can be confusing, they are not. And someone ordering from them and rating them effectively rates the brewery as well, which is even stranger.

I’ll be happy to be outvoted on this one, but…

That’s fantastic, thank you! :muscle:

He he he, double thx

@marko since you helped me out before. I was allowed to add one place. Now I need to somehow add my email address for verification. But that field is blocked in my profile!? Or is it something else that is wrong?!

It’s probably the bug caused by the (pretty ineffective) abuse protection. Log out if it appears that you’re logged in, and log in again if possible.

It’s frustrating, it catches me out all the time, I still add places reasonably often, the last time was yesterday evening. When it happens, I open another duplicate page, put them side by side and go to places again and simply transfer the details across.

I agree, sadly nothing to be done for now. I’ve been lucky enough to have very few to no issues with it on Firefox / Windows 10, even Chrome / Windows 10 on my work laptop. I don’t have any sort of cookie cleaner active on a regular basis (in-browser or outside), which likely helps.

Well, that one somehow found its way to Brazil. Moved it to the correct address.

I think admins can add comments to places.

I’d been meaning to visit this place which is quite near my office and then lockdowns happened. However I was always unsure as what the deal was… a micropub based in a small hotel. In fact I was under the impression that they had got in trouble over their license and thst the bar had shut. However details in their social media now state that new visitors need to ring beforehand as they are invitation only. Worth adding to the place in the unlikely event that someone see it on RB and decides to visit:

Why am I not authorised to add places. Wasn’t over exciting but I was passing time so thought I’d add
