Dealt with all of them except the nitro one. If it was my domain I would merge them, but I’m not going to step on anyone’s toes there. I would recommend either PMing an Australian admin or submit a bug report the old fashioned way.
This beer now states ‘Milk Stout’ on the label, which does lead to the question, “Why did they call it Coal Porter?” Suspect the original version back in 2017 may have been a straight Porter but looks like it’s been referred to as a Milk Stout for a number of years now
Did a little research on this one but couldn’t find anything conclusive. In 2017 it was added as a milk stout on Untappd by someone drinking it at the brewery’s own pub. It’s never had its style or name edited since then.
Later it appeared at Manchester CAMRA beer fest 2018 where they described it as
A classic Porter Stout with the dryness of the Roasted Barley perfectly balanced with the other malts and a clean hop taste. Could be described as having a delicate Hazelnut flavour.
Since at least 2019 it’s also been bottled and says Milk Stout on the label.
I can’t imagine they’d go back and forth between a porter, a classic stout, and a milk stout all using the same name so I’m inclined to think it was always a milk stout based on the age of the Untappd entry being oldest here and the fact it was at their own pub. Plus I don’t trust CAMRA descriptions of beers.
Probably easier to just ask the brewery at this point if we want to be 100% sure!
I’m glad you recognize that most CAMRA fest description are almost as good as the actual names in the program. Had to reach out to a few breweries after Manchester fest in 2020 and winter GBBF asking questions as programs were not correct.
So far the only comment I received noted that it is perhaps a Chinese sake as it is distributed by a Chinese company and bottled in 750ml as opposed to 720 ml bottles. I will continue to provide updates as I receive them.
