Do you rate NEIPAs high because they are trendy or because they are superior

And now we have the opportunity to drink Session Hazy IPAs from numerous breweries. Step up or step down?

Guess I haven’t noticed any but unless they avoid the dreaded hop burn, I’d say that would hurt their drinkability. I do realize one major knock on them is that the intense bitterness without balancing malt already detracts from the supposed “sessionability”.
I’ll try a couple when i see them, what the hell!

Usually hazies aren’t bitter at all since they don’t leave the hops in very long
