It’s changed location and now has a cafe-type seating area along with the shop (this has been updated), however they only sell two beers: Blue Glass Ale, a golden ale brewed by Brewhouse and Kitchen Bedford, and Mythos. They’ve decided to concentrate on wine likely because of Beerfly cornering the beer market.
Should we close or re-rate? I’m guessing the latter as it is still open and because of their house ale (which is almost certainly a standard B&K rebadged), but they are not a beer place anymore.
@jjsint I got address changed and updated from bottle shop to restaurant when i revisited in October. And updated my previous place rate and score (selection dropped to a 2). It’s a nice place run by nice people and worth a visit for the house beer (and better than most of the places below it in the Bedford league table imo!). Not sure about the rebadging though, he said it was an exclusive for them and nothing appears obviously the same from their core range listed on RB. NB - Photo needs to be updated on the site though.
On the main forum the feedback from Admins was that if places move or such like they should be closed and a new entry set up. Seems sensible to me - don’t want to look at old reviews and not spot updates.
(Farnham’s one of the (many) Surrey towns that’s surprisingly crap for pubs - posh plus an art school, would have thought some craft action would do well.)
The Jolly Farmer has been sold off by Greene King and the new owners have shut it down prior to redevelopment:
Do we have any evidence that Front Row brewery have actually moved to Staffordshire ? All other likely sources (Facebook, Brewery website, local CAMRA) still give the Congleton address.
I’ll be staying at the Ibis Croydon, near Thornton Heath, for 1 week, end of this month / primo March, and a decent pub for a tick or two would come in handy (yes, I’ll go to other parts of London too, but a good pub near the hotel is always nice). Suggestions?. . .
