Beery Events 2020

I’ll be there on the Friday with a long list of ticks.

Decided against a trip to Hungerford/Reading as the John O’Gaunt/Innformal don’t appear to have had any of their own beers on recently.

In other news I see that Egham will be on over the May and not Easter bank holiday.

Not done Egham since I moved from Windsor in 2016. Might see if I can swing by on the Thursday after work (Friday is a bank holiday that weekend)

Drink beer.
I tended to pick a few breweries I heard of/liked and did the whole range. You end up getting to know the people behind the stand, sometimes the brewers and get a bit of a chat going.

Did you stay in Brussels and commute to Leuven then get the transfer bus to the Festival. This is our current option. A little fuzzy about how it all fits together though.

Turns out they’re doing trade/press tix too, so I’ve now got a Thursday evening pass for LBL after all! :+1:

Not sure yet whether to go on the Friday as well - you doing afternoon or evening? - or leave that as a charity donation. Either way, I’d better make sure I’m in a fit state for Friday evening. :joy:

I’ve got a day ticket so will be there for 11:30.

Anyone going?

Brew//LDN - August bank holiday weekend
You have to book a table for six - anyone interested in sharing?
Here’s the info they’ve sent out:

BEER LIST
As well as welcoming back some BrewLDN favourites, we are working with craft beer specialist wholesaler, Pig’s Ears to curate a show stopping list.

We promise to have at least 50 different breweries over the weekend and more than 150 beers available per session.

BREWERIES CONFIRMED SO FAR…
Cloudwater, Lost and Grounded, BBno, Wiper and True, Glen Affric, Bianca Road, Fierce Beer, 71 Brewing, Burning Sky, Roosters, ABYSS, Brew York, Tiny Rebel, Tapestry, Wolf Pack, Big Hug, DEYA, Round Corner, Magic Rock, Fourpure, Gypsy Hill, Attic, Ilkley

There are some changes to make you aware of…

Pricing
There is NO MINIMUM spend as originally stated, just a simple per table booking fee. Each session will be 4 hour long and a table for 6 people will be £60 for the group.

Location
We are taking Brew//LDN to the Printworks London space! We have been working with the venue to deliver the best experience, and the additional space, transport options and availability of outdoor and indoor seating makes this the perfect location to enjoy a beer in the sunshine.

Dates / Times
We will be live throughout the August bank holiday weekend Friday 28th to Monday 31st August. The days will be split into 2 sessions, daytime (12-4pm) and evening (5-9pm).

When booking a table you will be asked to book an arrival time that will be within the first hour of opening to allow us to welcome guests with social distancing in place, but rest assured all tables will get a full 4 hour experience as we will be closing the sessions using the same method.

Your group must all arrive together and 15mins before the time stated on your tickets to gain entry.

What measures will be in place?
In line with UK Government COVID19 advice and legislation, BREW//LDN Summer Sessions will responsibly adopt and encourage the UK Government’s guidelines for the reopening of hospitality, ensuring the safety of everyone is paramount, allowing a comfortable state of normality.

We’ve designed the event from scratch to be the first socially distanced beer festival, in a huge space that in addition to table service, can allow for arrangements around capacity, food, scheduled entry, and increased toilet facilities to ensure guests feel comfortable.

Cheers and hope to see you in a few weeks!

I’d be up for it. I’ve been thinking of doing something beer related but wasn’t keen on public transport. However may as well bite the bullet.

Friday’s best for me (either session) as the Mrs is already taking the boy out somewhere. Or evening sessions.

Only 4 more needed, then.

What day are you looking at?

In the days before the Bank Holiday weekend and over the weekend I will be at this

https://peterborough.camra.org.uk/

Peterborough back to the pub Ale Trail, 15 pubs taking part, this is in place of the cancelled Beer Festival. I understand that the pubs will be putting on unusual beers from localish Breweries. We will be staying at our normal site just outside Posh and travelling in each day. Hopefully this means that all the participating pubs will be allowing walk ins.

Shrewsbury CAMRA are doing a similar thing; 9-12 Sep.
In the place of our postponed beer festival, we’re inviting you to enjoy self guided walks through the historic town of Shrewsbury, sampling some of our great pubs on the way. Close to the town centre, there are 70 pubs, many of which will have superb local ales and several of whom have agreed to have additional or unusual ales. We’ve included craft keg offerings and many pubs also have cider on the bar or in the cellar. Maps will be available at the station and in the pubs.

<*))))))><

See you there ?

@Martinsh, I might be in Devon, so don’t know.

Fuck it. I am taking the Friday off. If this doesn’t happen I am just going to get a train to Waterloo and go to Hoplocker, Waterloo Tap, etc. If the fest happens on one of the other days I’ll just spend the day laying on the sofa watching Netflix whilst I have the house to myself.

In fact, what’s open in Bermondsey?

There is another fest that day - Ascot are having one at their new brewery. 20 casks and 20 kegs.

Blimey, it’s all kicking off. Fingers crossed nothing stupid comes out of it all… :mask:

Friday daytime does look feasible…

Unfortunately that’s the only day I can’t make. We have big inspection at work that week.

If Saturday is better I can do that. Would prefer the early evening session but can do day as well.
