Noticed that full addresses for breweries appear to be back. :+1:

Which one? This is just a list of current Cheshire Breweries!

Fullers Black Cab Stout is listed twice. Once as a 4.2% beer and then as “pasteurised” at 5% which is said to be “retired”. I am currently drinking a bottle of this beer which I bought last week, and definitely says 4.5% on the bottle. It doesn’t say anything about “bottle condiotioned” on it - so is it the Pasteurised one which isn’t retired - or what ? Help !

PS will rate the relevant beer when I get advice

I it was me I’d rate against the 4.2% version.

This lot are no longer in business:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/beaumonts/11403/

We had them down as a microbrewery in Cornwall but according to Untappd they were commissioners from Hackney.

Whoops.

This one:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/woodward-and-falconer/14483/

Well the address is wrong for a start if they still exist. The Goshawk became a Lees pub last year

This brewery is based in Lewisham:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/near-beer-brewing/42501/

I guess it’s also a Commissioner? But, anyway, not a Commercial Brewery (well they all are but that’s another matter).

This lot were dissolved on 09/07/19:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/ar-suil-brewing-project/30283/

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10786787

Dissolved on 26/03/19:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/arden-beer-co/35500/

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10895675

This ‘brewery’ in in fact a shop called Barrica Wines. Crankshaft just brewed a beer for them, presumably a one-off Christmas special. I guess they perhaps count as a Commissioner but their website makes no mention of having their own beers and if you google them then the only other relevant link is to the beer on Untappd where it is just listed under Crankshaft.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/barrica-beer/34686/

This is a soft drinks company and distributor. The only beer they produce is actually a shandy which should potentially be unratable?

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cott-beverages-ltd/23093/

This lot are actually known as RBA Brewing:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/richard-burton-ales/42612/

Oswestry Close, DE21 2RF Derby

07943 367765

rbabrewery@gmail.com

Here are some additional potential closures. Yes, I am both bored and boring.

This is a dog breeder:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cherry-spinner-gundogs/40663/

This lot have not updated their social media since 2017. The most recent rating from elsewhere, that was not noted as being from someone’s backlog, was in early 2018:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/britman-craft-beers/21391/

One to keep an eye on. Pub closed in 2019. New owners took over this year but are they brewing? A friend of my wife lives in the next village and liked the pub on Facebook so will have to ask her to check when it reopens😀

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/butley-brewhouse/36611/

The only reference to this brewery is on here. Whatpub states that the pub rebadge guest beers:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/crafty-dog-brewery/32430/

This ones appear to have been added but never actually produced a beer:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/crescent-brewing/28090/

And this lot don’t appear to have actually operated commercially. The Facebook page suggests that they ‘gifted’ beers or something like that.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/dead-hippie-brewery/26144/

This isn’t a brewery. It’s just Howard Town doing craft styles in cans. They have a seperate brand but it’s all copyrighted by Howard Town and brewed there so I would suggest that the beers are just transfered over to Howard Town and this brewery is deleted:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/distant-hills-brewing/38397/

I think this guy is an international hitman who arranges hits via the telephone number listed on Ratebeer:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/david-bamforth-trigger/28557/

A subsidiary of some booze company or other which no longer seems to be around. All references cease circa 2016. The one brew is unratable as it is.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/dockyard-distillers/22947/

Brewpub added to London rather than Ravenscourt Park. No beers added. Didn’t check to see if it was a duplicate?

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/duchess-of-cambridge/14056/

No update since 2018 for Dominion/Pitfield which ties in with the last time I saw their beers at a local shop - never did pick any up. Their website is dead. The link below states that they became part of the Heathfield group. However if you go onto Heathfield’s website it has a reference to the fact that they distribute beers from the US brewery Dominion. Mistake identity or coincidence?

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/dominion-brewing-co-heathwick/15637/

These breweries have all been dissolved. I"ve looked them up on Companies House after finding no live website or such like.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/bierhaus-ltd/23985/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/brexit-beverages-ltd/34426/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/broken-scar-brewing-co/36297/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/buccaneer-brewery/28727/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cooper-griffin/19236/ (but was really just a bar with rebadged beers I would suggest)

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cosmic-brewing-co/35239/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/custom-head-brewing-prev-hippy-killer-brew-co/32899/

On the other hand, this lot have started up again.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/talke-o-th-hill/16271/

They had a beer Ahtanum at the Crewe Rail Ale Festival last year. I see Fat Phil has already rated it ! There were further details about the brewery in the Festival program - I’ll see if I can find it

You should rate under the 4.2% version. This is brewed slightly stronger at 4.5% for bottling.

Everything I have seen backs up the address we have but agree on the Contract Out side.

All above should be now up to date. Many thanks all for the new information.

I’ve got more to submit. My wife was wondering what I was doing and I just said, “An audit.”

When I looked at I failed to spot the Peckham Rye bit and thought it had just been added under London.

It’s suggested that Eyes have shut and there is in fact a proposal to strike them off on Companies House.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/eyes-brewing/29580/

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10079204

This is the same address as Darkland. If you Google Felix Brewery Halifax nothing comes up at all so it must have been extremely short-lived. Perhaps coincided with when Baildon was sold to Ghost.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/felix-junction/28499/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/darkland-brewery/37517/

Dissolved in 2017 when Baildon became Ghost.:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/junction-baildon/18379/

This lot produce an alcohol free ‘beer’ which is not fermented. It’s just blended. The product’s not been added but as it’s unratable should the company just be deleted?

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/freestar-drinks-ltd/42601/

The only record of this brewery are the Ratebeer pages for it and a single beer. It’s website and Facebook page no longer exist:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/gateshead-brewery/33175/

This lot are called Green’s Beers now:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/green39s-belgian-ales/19005/

This is not a cidery it’s a garden centre/farm shop commissioner. Based on the details on the website the ciders are presumably produced at Killerton.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/greendale-brewery-and-cidery/12249/

https://www.greendale.com/blog/posts/2017/06/26/greendale-proper-scrumpy-cider/

This is a bar that has/had rebadged Bavo Pils so should presumably be deleted:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/hack-hop/18658/

Website and Facebook pages down. Companies House states that accounts are overdue from 2018:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/hals-ales/30358/

Hambleton Bard are a manufacturer of brewing equipment. But according to Ratebeer they also produced a beer with 2 ratings that was available in Finland. Were Hambleton Bard somehow involved in distributing this now retired Belgian beer of the same name which has 500 + Finnish ratings:

https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/hambleton-bard-sherpa-himalaya-pride/507569/

Anwyay suggest this entry is potentially up for deletion?

This is a brewpub:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/healey39s-brewery/16417/

A restaurant with a rebadged beer:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/herman-ze-german/39214/

Closed in 2016 - owners took over Intrepid Brewery. See the final Facebook post.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/high-peak-brew-co/24670/

Website no longer up. Facebook not updated for a year. Accounts 3 months late. No beer available to order.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/hobo-beer-co/16086/

Home 2.0 is a brand rather than a brewery. The company are actually called Kraft Beer UK Ltd so should be listed as a Commissioner. The beers are in fact brewed in Pasvalys in Lithuania.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/home-20-craft-beer/29294/

No internet presence. No rating here or elsewhere since 2018:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/hopburst-brewing-co/30650/

Horsetown is not a brewery. It’s just a brand Malton Brewery use:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/horsetown-beer-co/33049/

https://www.maltonbrewery.com/horsetown-beers

This is a microbrewery:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/ignition-brewery/31979/

Dissolved:

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/fitzrovia/30528/

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/forge-brewery/11111/

Great update! Look forward to seeing your work on the rest of the alphabet.

Re a couple of the entries, admin I’d suggest this is closed down. Having found this in late 2017 I never saw anything more from them despite being in Newcastle a lot during 2018.

https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/gateshead-brewery/33175/

And agree Home 2.0 not a microbrewery but should be client brewer not commissioner. I had various contact with them back in 2017 when they were trying to establish their products in my area and they were touring the local pubs doing tastings etc and were recipe owners for sure (reinventing Lithuanian beers as they put it).

The Cooper and Griffin beers were brewed for them by Pheasantry Brewery in Nottinghamshire. Recently Pheasantry have started brewing them under their own name.

Phew, that was a struggle, many thanks for the updates, went through them all. Are you sure you have the correct Forge Brewery as closed. The one at Companies House is in Devon not Cornwall afaics.
